Tempe is in Arizona, in the Southwest, where the desert climate brings very hot summers, mild sunny winters and the summer monsoon; outdoor businesses shift their hours toward early mornings and evenings in the hottest months. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Tempe follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Escalante Park has the potential to be one of the premier community spaces in Tempe. With its expansive layout, excellent basketball and volleyball courts, and the adjacent Multi-Generational Center, the physical infrastructure is top-tier. It is clear that the city has invested in providing quality amenities for families and fitness enthusiasts alike. Concerns Regarding Environment and Safety However, the overall experience is significantly hindered by ongoing issues with loitering and illegal activity. While the park is intended for public use, there is a consistent presence of individuals who occupy the space for extended periods without engaging in park activities, often leading to noticeable littering. More concerning is the presence of drug-related paraphernalia, such as discarded baggies, throughout the common areas. Even when illicit activity is not occurring in plain view, the remnants left behind pose a clear safety and health risk to the families and children who frequent the playground and community garden. Final Thoughts The park would be an outstanding asset to the neighborhood if the management and local authorities could implement more consistent oversight to

My team here at GetGo volunteered our time to work in their garden. Great facility and they are doing great things for the community. Their gardens are self sustainable and provide organic veggies and eggs to the food pantries in the Valley. I urge anyone looking to help out an org to reach out. You will be doing your community and the less fortunate a big solid. They are very greatfull and appreciate your time.
